TES Lookup Privacy Policy

Updated October 6, 2026 · Applies to TES Lookup 1.0.1

TES Lookup reduces repetitive manual steps when looking up course information in TES. Select one university and look up multiple courses in a single batch, then read their details in a side panel. TES Lookup is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by CollegeSource.

Authorized use

The extension works through your own authorized TES session. It does not provide account access or bypass login or access restrictions. Use TES Lookup in accordance with TES's applicable terms and your institution's requirements. This policy does not imply approval or endorsement by TES or CollegeSource.

Information used

The extension uses the school search terms and course codes you enter, your selected university, and the course titles, credits, descriptions, catalog names, and source links returned by TES. It examines TES course-finder page text and controls to perform searches and identify results or login problems. It uses TES tab identifiers, TES URLs, loading state, and tab activity to connect the panel to a TES tab in your current browser window. It does not request access to your general browsing history or unrelated website content.

Where information goes

When you choose Search or Look up courses, the extension submits your queries through TES's own controls in your signed-in browser tab over HTTPS. CollegeSource receives and processes those requests under its own policies and your account or institution's agreement. Your browser supplies its existing authenticated session in the normal way. The extension does not read, store, or send your password or authentication cookies to the developer.

The extension developer does not receive your queries, course results, or browsing activity. The extension has no developer-operated backend, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or data-sale mechanism.

Storage and clearing

Queries, selected school, and results are kept only in the panel's memory. A new university search clears previous course inputs and results. Unloading the panel or restarting the browser clears this temporary state. The extension does not save it to browser storage or sync. TES may retain its own search or session records, and the browser may retain normal history independently of the extension.

Permissions

Limited use

TES Lookup uses the information described above only to provide the course lookup features requested by the user. Its use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. It does not sell data, use data for advertising, or use data for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Your choices and contact

You can pause a course batch, start a new search to clear results, unload the panel, or uninstall the extension. For questions, contact yiweiqin@outlook.com. If you email support, the information you choose to include is received and processed through Outlook to respond to your request; do not send passwords. Changes to this policy will be reflected by an updated date on this page.
